Our July meeting took place on July 6th 2017 at Ilkley All Saints Church House Hall as usual and our guest speaker was Peter Richardson from Ashkeys Nursery near Hull who offered ideas on how to get the best results from herbs and vegetables from the windowsill to the allotment. Some 20 members enjoyed the talk and Peter kept us all amused.
He also brought a number of plants to illustrate his talk and for sale. Ashkeys is a small family run horticultural business based in Holderness, East Yorkshire, specialising in pot grown culinary and medicinal herbs.
Our 50th Anniversary Meeting is on September 7th and our special guest is Nick Hamilton, son of the late, great Geoff Hamilton and his talk will be on Barnsdale, The BBC Years and tickets are available from both July & August meetings abd these are free to members (one per membership) or £5 for a second members ticket, and £10 to non-members. Tickets are also available from the Community Action Ilkley office in Riddings Hall, Riddings Road (between Christchurch and the Police Station) Monday to Thursday 10am-12noon and 2-4pm, plus Friday morning 10-12, price £10.
